Sterling role in smooth transit
During the Durga Pujas, I visited the major pandals in the city, along with my friends, till late at night on Ashtami without any hassles. We were delighted to see that there was no chaos even at crowd-puller pujas like Santosh Mitra Square, Mohammad Ali Park and Simla Byayam Samiti. Calcutta Police deserves applause for this well-planned and effective crowd management. We wish they were similarly active round the year, especially when huge rallies are taken out on the city streets. It is an established fact that the police are able to deliver when there is a need.
